-a regular window has been broken, allowing access to the inside of the church without having to worry about the portal blocking the doors

Matoba's encouraged some caginess about this, but this seems pretty important! They do have a few people they'd be willing to tell themselves.

I'm JST so I can be on the slower side compared to people but I try to tag at least one a day and can prioritize more sensitive threads. Because these are pretty open/general things right now, if anyone wants to pair up, let me know. My goal is to try to set things up this week.

- Hidden compartments/areas in the library/other strange places that have been passed over, might be noticed by people who are well-inclined in dealing with abnormal things. Plus size to potential hidden areas might be more stories that are hidden away, or whatever else they might stumble on, assuming that there is anything else, lol.
- The local stories Dainsleif located thus far was just about typical fairytales in the library about princesses/princes & monster slaying, so maybe them looking together will provide more specific details.
- Them following up on talking to NPCS; though we can probably generalize it to 'townfolk' around the town, and have some questioning going on there about local tales, as well as inquiries into Keigo Arata's potential presence somewhere around town. Dainsleif is skilled at a lot of things but social interaction not one of them; though thankfully if they're working on this together, asking questions should be easy enough
- Not sure what else will go here, but we can discuss more on a private discord messaging if you'd like. Just thought it'd be easier to compile some thoughts here.

Yes, we should definitely follow up on things together. I was going to hit you up sooner so we could start on something this week but maybe we can start an investigation this weekend? We can take our time because of the holidays and stuff.
I like the idea of looking for secret passages, hidden compartments, and general hideaway places a lot. Or maybe they can look for secret notes in books or something like that. Let's shoot ideas at each other on discord!!
OPEN: When did Raven's family die?
The Why: Stems from this thread; Nazuna and Rinne noted that they found a message from Raven written on the back of a family photo saying that "I'll bring you back." But if Raven died in the same house fire that killed his family, why would he have needed to write that message in the first place?
The What: We don't know at this moment if Raven's family died in the same house fire that allegedly killed Raven! Some enterprising characters should go and find out more about Raven's family and what happened to them--did all of them die in the house fire? Did the others die first from something else? What's the story here!!
The Who: Preferably those who haven't gotten to do much in the way of investigating so far this month, though Rinne and Nazuna definitely have ins if they want it considering it's springing off of their conversation and I'm hopefully not jumping the gun by posting this; pls one of you jump in here and take this over if u want........ :stressedbun: help

Find the thing that escaped the stained glass!
What: A discussed over here there was something being held in the stained glass of the village church before the fire, and whatever happened to set the church ablaze set it free. Matoba wants to track it down. Diluc had a little more info on where it might have gone but after that the trail has gone cold. Seems bad! Let's find it.
When: Looking to do this after the holidays in January sometime! Just as an OOC note early January is pretty busy for me at work but I should still be around to chat/plot and stuff easily.

GEMSTONE/MEMORY RESTORATION
Tsurumaru has suspected a connection between the characters and their gemstones for a while because of his own nature as a spirit whose physical condition is tied to his sword's status. With the information coming together, I'd like for him to take a more involved interest here. He's been damaged plenty of times before and recovered each time. While Tsurumaru doesn't remember right now, he's also the product of artifact restoration so he's cautiously optimistic here.
He's layered and slow to open up to others but he'll explain his reasoning and experience to others if he thinks they're worried or interested. He's pretty flippant about his nature as a spirit.
COLLECTING STORIES
Sword boys are the products of the stories they've inherited. It doesn't matter if they're fact, fiction, detailed accounts, or trivial anecdotes. Their stories define them. While Tsuru has lost the value of his own stories, he still values other stories. He's more interested in learning the stories of the people in the towns and trying to find a way to preserve/restore what they can.
Last month, he offered a book of fairy tales, his favorite story, and asked the coffin for their favorite story. He received an original, handwritten story about a monster. Tsuru is very interested in finding out,
Since the things they offered to the coffin effects on the island, he's going to see if he can find out where/how his offering ended up while looking for more information about the one he received.
He shared the monster story at the last town hall meeting so people are free to know about it if they were there. I've also had him sharing/discussing the story with anyone who asks. He's the type that just tells stories whimsically (because he's an old man...) so we can handwave him sharing it. Otherwise, he hasn't really discussed it a whole lot IC despite having thoughts.

GENERAL THINGS
Tsuru is a 1,000+ year-old spirit and is very grounded in spiritual beliefs. He knows a ton of stories about superstition, folklore, traditional magic, and so on. He's happy to share what he knows with others even if his beliefs don't line up exactly with situations. He's here to offer a spirit-y and magic-y perspective on things.
He's also very capable in a fight and I want to get him a little hecked up tbh. So if anyone wants to go on a more dangerous investigation, I'm happy to have him play body guard or something.
