smashes the EMERGENCY MEETING button

Hello, people of Austice!

As we all know, our big "to-do" for this month has been to figure out a way to get player characters and NPCs off the island before it dissolves into the void. To that end there's been a lot of discussion, a lot of trial-and-error, and more than a few plans.

But one plan has gone fantastically! ..........until the train from the Nest is now stuck inside the volcano of Firebird Island.

Per Ori and the investigation thread, the party that rode the train to bring it to the island is trapped in one of the underground tunnels leading to the in a large magma chamber--bad!!!

So where does this leave us? Late Friday night, The train team (Hiyori, Kokichi, Still Sunrise, Eula, Kaeya, and Diluc) reached out via the network to let people know that they're trapped, and the alarm's going out! So feel free to assume your character's in the loop about what's going on, because we gotta figure out how to get them all out before we lose the train and everyone on it.

Please use this post to volunteer any ideas/thoughts and spitball ideas and let's get this train to the station!!

Here to rep the femblems, who are highly motivated and surely heard about this by word of mouth, phoneless as they are.

Yuri's most potent wind attack creates a cyclone that pulls matter (enemy troops haha warriors games) from a wide range into an area, then explodes. Byleth? Sets everything on fire then cleaves it with a ridiculous weapon.

Potentially? These two could combine forces and punch their way through the side of the volcano...or because of Yuri's wind being able to drag surrounding matter into the area it's placed in, and Byleth's range of spells and destructive capabilities, they could divert and destroy lava/stone from the likely eruption brute force would cause.

Incidentally Yuri would consider the former option a desperation move and the latter preferable, in terms of making sure people are covered.

Relocating the train though? No idea.

If need be, Phil could also potentially make a virtual mirrage field (or however we wanna render that kanji in English STARES AT IT) to protect the island people from an eruption, BUT that would a) require him to be there to maintain it, and b) would probably take a lot out of him. So that's always an option if it comes down to it.

Raises hand gently. Nico can attempt to shadow travel there and back, although he'd be signing up for being completely useless and exhausted after? He can take people and objects (previously a 40 foot tall statue and a chariot...) but he'll be dead on his feel exhausted and tapped out of powers for an Amount of time after.

So either he can take someone who can help in or try to take people and stuff out, and then he'd be Coma Time.

How does Nico's shadow travel work? Sans has teleportation basically via void; is it possible they could By Their Powers Combined move the whole train?

"All shadows are part of the same substance. There is only one darkness, and creatures of the Underworld can use it as a road, or a door." How Nico describes it, but basically to HIM it seems like going through a tunnel and he can take other people with him, and objects - once he's moving more than himself the cost amps up exponentially and he was even in a small coma for a bit in canon after overusing it, but he doesn't mind using it to the limits for emergencies! He basically just has to be kinda near/in contact with what or who he wants to come with. As long as there's a shadow in the train he can get there!

They could Probably combine their powers? edit: and I think the whole train, possibly, he's moved a 40 foot tall statue before and so on so he CAN move big stuff it just...kills him for a while exhaustion wise and he won't be able to use his powers until he rests a bunch?

When Sans teleports, he basically blacks out the whole universe for anyone who's looking at him, so Sans can provide plenty of shadow to work with. Sans has to be in physical contact to teleport something with him, but you don't need to be touching him to be Plunged Into The Void temporarily while he moves through it.

The void would absolutely be enough shadow to work with! I think unless Ori tells us otherwise it would hypothetically work?

Aww yeah! Looks like we've got Phil on Team Teleport too, so maybe nobody will even have to be in a coma!

I'd be in as would Nico...! He's very used to working with skeletons. Though usually less cool ones!

If there's no other option, Sans will teleport people out. He can't get the whole train or anything, but at night with his full power level, between him and Nico I think everyone could get out. Unfortunately, since this is Sans Undertale and he doesn't actually want people to know he can do this, he'll only hop in to help if it's that or people die. He'll need to be told where the magma chamber is to aim his teleport, or Nico can bring him in.

(Maybe between himself and Nico they could teleport the train? I'm not actually sure how Nico's abilities work.)

Phil also has transfer gate powers but I don't know if that could get the train either... basically the way it works is like opening up a gate in the form of a magic circle on the ground that you step into to teleport. So it's less like... actively teleporting a object and more opening a gate you can go through, if that makes sense. It also takes a lot of energy on his end in order to do it.

It could get the PEOPLE but I don't know about the train-- I'm inclined to say it probably couldn't?

Maybe between Phil, Sans, and Nico? Sans basically rips open a hole in the universe and uses that, as you do. It basically blacks out the whole universe for anyone looking at him for those few moments he's teleporting, which is basically just a huge void that could be worked with, maybe?

HMM yeah that might be able to work. WITH THEIR POWERS COMBINED, they will do... something! That hopefully will not get everyone involved killed...!

kuja can give a boostie boost to team teleport too!! he's. got that as a spell, and he's shown he can move like nine people at one with it at least. it's definitely his most tiring one though so he'll go lay down dramatically with a hand over his eyes after.

For the non-disord record, Papyrus is lending his help. Very very reluctantly. He's not about to be outdone in the helping people out camp by Sans! He's powerful, he's precise with his magic, he's... okay, his teleportation is so rusty from minimal use that it's quite a bit slower than Sans's. But that's fine! He's helping them not all over-exert and die in lava or something. He chimed in on the pro-souls side of the fuel argument, anyway.
