☀ Hope you guys had a chill February! We'll be getting back into more plot again, especially as we approach the halfway point of the game. It's been a wonderful 5 months so far, thank you guys for everything you do!
☀ The game lore page has been updated, and I also went back to the previous months' entries and cleaned them up a bit. Hopefully this'll make things easier if you ever need to reference back to what happened and when, or brush up on everything that's happened so far.
☀ Same as last month, investigations during the first three days after the event goes up (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) will be limited to players who did not participate in any investigations last month to initiate, although any character can be included. After the first three days, any character can initiate an investigation. There is no monthly limit, but characters can be involved in only one investigation at a time, aka they will have to finish an investigation first before tackling another.
☀ The event log will go up this Saturday, as usual, and there will also be a mini-event that'll go up on March 20. More information will be given on the mini-event log itself, and this weekend's event log will hint to things as well. Just something to keep on your radar as you're juggling timelines!

Let me know how you guys are feeling! there's no point in putting together an intensive event if a lot of players don't have the time/energy for it, so I'd like to hear from as many of you as possible, otherwise I'll assume what comments I get summarize the playerbase as a whole. The game is still planned to run a maximum of one year, so this'll help me decide how much we can get through and if there's any weaker ideas I can leave out.

Nooot much I can give a feedback on I figure. I know you've been adjusting based on our month to month feedback and I'm grateful for that. You've also been very accommodating when it came to adjusting to our requests, and also if we decide to be impulsive. I've enjoyed myself a lot here and any issues I've faced are entirely self-inflicted.
I think utilizing the calendar is definitely a great one since it is easier to plan things. I think the only thing that comes to mind is making sure to mark important events on it if anything major happens in the game. I'm thinking of the awkward time shuffling during the end of January where everything shifted because no one knew when the blood rain is happening, so suddenly the train rescue moved, and that affected people's plans. Since the calendar came after that, just making sure major game-effecting events will be noted there would be loved!
A lot of the rest are I think players needing to communicate and adjust to each other a little more, but as far as I know everyone has been doing that very well! So I am quite happy where we are at now.

Timezones aren't an issue with the way things are run right now (I'm on GMT+8). Any problems I've run into are all on me oops.
A team-oriented mission-style event sounds fun! I prefer things that are threaded out over quick OOC comments myself, just because I lose interest in actually RPing it later on... That is just my own playing style, though. Don't mind me. LOL I can roll with whatever is convenient for everybody.
I'd really like to participate, even if I know Rinne's just going to get himself killed early on again (I'm kidding.........). Unfortunately, I might have work obligations in May.

If it's possible, it might be nice to have some kind of counter to keep track of evidence (kind of like how Yogen did towards the end of it)? But if it's too much of a hassle or there's some other reason you wouldn't want to, that's totally fine too! I think we did okay last invest aside from not figuring out who Crow's killer was, so we'll probably be fine without it, honestly.

I don't really have any feedback as such otherwise, aside from that I sometimes have difficulty integrating actual RP threads and CR-building with plot-relevant material like investigations, but that may be just on me!

Character/Canon: Ain from Elsword, an old-ass MMO that continues to drive me nuts despite the fact I have been playing it for 10 years. Ain is an angel, so characters that can sense supernatural beings/non-humans/whatever are free to point at him and say "hey what the fuck" while he sits there lying his ass off about being human. He's not human. Do not let him fool you.
He also unfortunately has the emotional intelligence of a goose at the best of times, can be rude either intentionally or unintentionally (and you will never know which), and doesn't seem to understand social norms one fucking bit. Or rather, he's choosing to ignore them. Those of you that have interacted with him so far probably got a taste of this. I am so sorry.
He is also a healer. So if you need healing... even though magic's a little fucky, he can pull it off. Mostly. We'll play it by ear. He's here to help but he's also here to give you a silly nickname and never refer to you by name ever. I am sorry about this too.

Also, because of where he is in his canon point, he's going to spend the first week of March fairly sick from a curse from the Abyss. If that sounds ominous, it is, but mostly it's just a high fever and some flu-like symptoms. He'll be fine. Yes he'll decorate the apartment while suffering from a 103 degree fever like an idiot.

Character/Canon: Add from Elsword! He is your new resident engineer/robotics expert/human battery. Alas, he is also tsun as hell with shit social skills so he is going to be an ass to like 90% of people on the first meeting i apologize in advance, he's actually pretty nice once you know his deal. The secret codeword to turning down the grouch is to show him a cool machine or ask a science question, please use this knowledge for good.
Sidenote on tech, Elsword's setting is that fun combo of ancient lost tech in a fantasy setting but there's no logical consistency, so stuff like airships are very normal and mundane but he'll get excited about like. elevators. He has cyborg implants that let him shoot lightning from his hands but he would probably be more fascinated by a coffee machine. Please show him really mundane things for him to geek out over i think it's funny.
also if anyone is mean to Ain he will kick their ass, that's HIS idiot only HE'S allowed to bully Ain, get your own idiot

Character/Canon: Tsukasa is from Ensemble Stars!! and is the leader of an idol unit called Knights. He's also the head of his family! He's a prim and proper boy, but also highly competitive, so he can be somewhat fighty. But like. In the idol sense. Anyway, he is simultaneously both mature and baby. But ultimately, he's a good boy who means the best.
Plans:
Tsukasa has uhhhh. Gotten up to things recently. So he's currently dealing with a possession. But it's fine. dwbi. Anyway, the demon possessing him mostlyyy will only come out under various circumstances. If his life was threatened, or it sees something it really really would like, for instance. He was just cursed but it's lifted now, so he's probably slept the past two days now that he was able to again.
Demon issues aside...! I don't know what to expect plot-wise just yet, but....! A few things he is working on/wanting to work on.
- Building the shrine. Various people have said they would have their character help! I can handwave that people have done the thing...! But if people want, I can also just make a post with them finishing things up. Technically, I'm still trying to figure out what should be at the center of their little shrine. A special rock? A carving? IDK. It's meant to be in thanks for the crane thing from before. If someone has ideas for it, let me know?
- The Galactic Battlers From Beyond The Mortal Realm: Fearsome Knights Of The Trading Card Table: This is the loser card dueling club that Tsukasa has founded in order to play Idobato (a game from his canon) to play with others. He keeps using ac bonuses to get decks. He needs to make a bulletin board post or make a phone message with Kaname in order to try and recruit members to come join a noble
nerdclub.- Classes/Idol things/Music: IDK what yet. Tsukasa is probably going to try and help Naru part-time with her little flower business. But I want him to do something maybe independently on his own, too. Especially music or idol related. Back home, he knows how to run businesses, but he decided for himself to be an idol. So maybe performing somehow. Or trying to open up a theater of some kind? Where people can perform in a variety of different ways.
He hates the barter system and wants to establish some kind of currency
because he's a rich bitchbut that also is a lot of work. I guess people who wanted to attend performances and the like could pay with IOU's... LMFAO IDK. Imagining someone bringing some meat to barter with and watch a concert.Anywayyy the theater is just an idea I'm tossing around. It's something else that would have to be built, or a house remodeled or something...! But maybe he can gather a crew to help with that, too. Even if it's just an outdoor stage. It's better...than nothing.

OTHER: As a super random aside. I don't know if everyone is being auto-translated in Austice...! But in canon, Tsukasa tends to insert perfectly pronounced english words into his sentences (he speaks Japanese). But since we all speak English, there is just no way to actually translate that over well. So like, as an aside, if you ever see me doing random words in italics, it's my pitiful attempt to indicate that he purposefully said the word in English.

Character/Canon: Kuja is a JRPG villain in... rehab? question mark?, who last month forcibly learned empathy after 24 years of comfortable self-centrism. being concerned for the fates of other people is really blowing his little brain.
Qiqi is a self-sufficient little zombie girl with severe memory problems before a gem enters the picture, who is generally pretty cavalier about it. i live in fear of the new canon info i may be getting on her soon.
Plans: none, other than Brahne Appearance II i think next month? (in which Kuja decides to let go of the power of Trance because this shit is not worth it). i don't know when that happens actually i have to do goddamn MATH about it
and of course, my main goal is furthering CR with his new perspective. i WILL make this man be a decent father.

Character/Canon: Deuce Spade from Twisted Wonderland, that game with pretty boys inspired by Disney Villians! He's a first-year student at Night Raven College, a boys' school that teaches future mages how to use their powers. Deuce is part of Heatslabyul, the dorm inspired by the Queen of Hearts which has a ton of weird rules. Deuce isn't always good at following these rules because he used to be a delinquent, but he's trying really hard because he wants to be good a model student now. Only that's difficult when you have bad impulse control and are kind of a space case. But like I said, he's doing his best!
Plans: Hopefully just getting him involved in whatever is happening this month and finally ironing out his housing even though I more or less know what I'm doing with that. Deuce is canonically pretty easy to involve in adventures especially if he likes you. And it's not hard to get him to like or at least respect you, especially if you're badass or awesome in any way. He's a pretty simple guy at heart.

Character/Canon: Kaname Tojo from Ensemble Stars!! In Austice, he goes exclusively by Yodaka to everyone save his older brother (at the moment) but we'll see how long that lasts in the end. He's one of the best of the best at Reimei Academy, a strict business-focused performance art school that raises and hones idols that debut as early as their first year into the industry. It's a ruthless school that prioritizes foes over friends, so he's rather stunted in a few departments.
Recently, he's been pushing his "freedom" a little more since he doesn't have to worry about the sudden death that comes with the island he found himself on falling apart, and Kaname's been enjoying that! He's picked up a few hobbies, accepted two people as friends (they've been friends, he just calls them it outwardly now), and is curious about what boys his age normally do. He's taking "you don't have to worry about your agency here" personally and making it other peoples' problem.
Plans:
・ Fostering his friendships more... I want him to be able to call more than two people friends, but there's specific conditions for it. The door is open though. It's possible.
・ He's working in Arashi's paper flower shop once it opens! This is against Kaname's will. He gave her the idea, and so he's lying in the bed he made. He'll mostly be manning the desk, I think, putting that pretty face to work.
・ He's also... going to find a restaurant that offers a show with your meal and work there to as a way to stay connected to being an "idol". It's been part of his life so long that Kaname can't truly let it go, and it's a lot easier to be one here than it is back home -- he's going to conquer the town one night at a time, everyone'll be a fan of "Yodaka the Songbird"!!! In his heart. This is mostly flavor, but if you wanna drop by he'll be at the NPC-run (spins wheel) Nightingale's Roost. Tell your friends.
・ he wants to learn magic so he might be diving more into that. i've heard it requires a pretty terrible situation for it to sort of Click so maybe an investigation to that and he wants to learn the native language in the books here so that too... i have someone in mind for the latter at least. i just want him to investigate more

Character/Canon: leona kingscholar is the housewarden of the savanaclaw dorm. prideful and lazy, this secondborn prince doesn't like wasting his energy unless his efforts will result in benefiting him in some way. due to his status, he hates it when people use titles and/or their status to treat people unfairly and prefers being on the same level as others... though he's also not afraid to use his cunning and try to win at any cost. he can be hypocritical but he won't care if he gets caught being underhanded. leona is considered to be the second strongest in the college, and thanks to his royal tutelage he rarely attends classes (and ends up getting held back a few times due to it). heck school.
Plans: i literally have nothing planned at any given time so what you see is what you get. it would be nice for him to use his signature spell at some point, where he says a neat phrase and then anything he touches turns into sand... but here in game? it's nerfed... it'll be even slower. that is either a.) very unfortunate or b.) very VERY unfortunate if he happens to touch someone......
alternatively i will just stick him anywhere and you'll just have a grumpy, agitated, and/or potentially ?????? beastman in your life.

Hiiro Amagi | Ensemble Stars!!

Character/Canon: Hiiro Amagi from Ensemble Stars!!
For those not familiar with him yet, Hiiro's an earnest, naive and kind teen idol who is also a skilled hunter, quick learner and hard worker. Since he spent most of his life sheltered in a remote village that was isolated from the outside world, Hiiro can come off as completely clueless and may misunderstand many things, but he tries his hardest to learn. He's normally optimistic and cheerful, but that took a hit during in-game events in January. He's been depressed the whole of last month, but he did more or less recover by the end. He's still a bit melancholic and can fall into deeper thoughts, which he doesn't usually do, but he'll be closer to his more cheerful self in March.
Also, he likes to befriend anyone he meets. He has the weird vibe check that can come off as insanely accurate at first glance, like if someone is possibly evil or has murdered or was a samurai in his past life, but we can handwave it and say he misunderstood or something. That also happens.
Plans:
Now that he's stopped hiding, I think he'll want to start befriending the locals and helping them thrive a little more in the town they belong to. He'll also want a place for people to just take a break together that isn't the bar, and since he was able to share a lot of cake during January, he'll get the idea that a cafe like Cafe Cinnamon would be a great way to do that. So some ideas:
- Start up a small cafe. This is mostly likely with the help of local bakers and suppliers, that operates only in the afternoon for tea breaks that he probably learned from his one acting stint. It won't be anything too fancy since they aren't making their own desserts (I dunno, maybe someone wants to? Eventually?) but they will serve drinks and desserts and maybe eventually do small song and dance performances for fun. Think of maid cafes without the maid outfits. It'll start out very small and more like a friendly hang-out place rather than a proper store, but if anyone wants to play with that idea (unintentional customer, volunteer, critic, etc) I would be happy to work with it.
- Forest de-trapping. So prior to people returning to the Nest, Hiiro and Rinne laid a lot of traps in the forest for food hunting. Now that it's not necessary anymore, Hiiro will most likely return to the forest to remove the traps slowly. If anyone wants forest shenanigans, this is the best way to do it with him.
- Event stuff. If there are any event things you wanna do with him, let me know! I'm always open to trying new things. This is open to old and new CR.

Character/Canon: Alice Yabusame from Your Turn To Die. He's a convict because he supposedly killed a man, but the truth is filled with spoilers. In Austice, he only remembers that he was in prison for murder, and he's forgotten the Death Game part of his canon and related information.
Other than that, he really likes stripes and music. Hopefully he can dye and cut his hair here instead of looking ridiculous as it grows out (or he can experience this again).
Plans: I'd like to develop his existing CR further and have him meet more people; I'm mostly just throwing him into things at the moment and letting that go wherever it ends up, but I'm also open to any specific plotting. Getting involved in investigations is a goal, too, and I'll continue to tag ongoing threads to their conclusion.
Others: His speed-dating and memshare toplevels are still open if anyone wants to do anything with those, featuring bitter melon nonsense, and childhood (without hair stripes...) / band time / prison encounters.

Character/Canon: Matoba Seiji from Natsume Yuujinchou! Shady exorcist man! His specialty aside from destructive magic is archery. Has a right eye cursed by a youkai who shows up and tries to eat it once a month. IT'S BACK BABY. Hates non-humans. Conceal don't feel is how he lives his life- but he's a shoujo character so there's Many Feel deeply, deeply repressed.....

Baking: Matoba is a sweets eater, not a patisserie. Someone please teach him to bake (his previous attempts have been less than ideal)

Sing a duet: which idol wants to discover the Suwabe singing voice. Please note Matoba will never sing again after this, it's your once in a lifetime chance.
The general violence and/or interaction ones I will maybe have as open prompts with specific warnings? But if anyone is actively interested in Matoba being unflinchingly violent let me know, sure!!
I have also yet to think about what I will do for his curse this month. I mean, in theory he could just use it to die. But he can't actually let that happen, cuz then the curse would break. Alas.
