Hi, Austice!! We've been running a while and haven't done one of these, iirc, so I figured it'd be a good time now that we're at the halfway mark!

hopefully this isn't too redundant considering we do plotting posts, but idk, i like the idea of explicitly setting out for handwaving and the mindset that puts me in.

I for one know there's characters I would love to have more scenes with where the wiles of time and circumstance haven't really played ball with getting threads done, so this would be super helpful for me, at least. Everyone's living in the same small town, after all!

Outline information they may have learned about each other, and dynamics we'd like to handwave our characters having built where threads might not have let us get it down yet! Get past sticking points in your CR, or identify standing emotional notes you're excited to sit down and thread -- idk just. vibes. go with the vibes.

RESIDENCE: Datura - sharing an apartment space with Add!
SURFACE LEVEL INFO: The man has 0 fashion sense. Has absolutely zero social skills as well. Also, fond of people-watching. You would think this improves his social skills. Trust me when I say it does not.
DAY-TO-DAY: He's normally investigating something (the forest, the markets, somewhere else in town??) and sometimes can be seen at the train station crystal just. Staring at it. Don't worry about this.
HOBBIES: Other than adventuring and combat, he's taken up cooking (trying to, anyway) to try to keep Add fed. Unfortunately he is very bad at this, but he's making an Attempt.

CHARACTER(S): Kuja & Qiqi

RESIDENCE: Kuja has a formerly abandoned, two-story house with a bright red door. Qiqi has no permanent residence, and leaves her things either in communal residence hall areas, or at Taibani's house.

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Kuja is the actual tallest person in town by far, and often floats instead of walking. He's always extremely well put-together unless otherwise noted, and is best described as 'some kind of evil wizard furry.' At least he's pretty. The easiest thing to know about him is he is very vain, _{and doesn't wear pants,} but also compared to the past he's very... subdued... now. The vaguely manic edge is gone.

Qiqi is a small jiangshi girl, and has some days where she's a bit stiff and struggles to move. She is forgetful, calm, and sedate. She is very self-sufficient. And has a sword.

Both of them Talk Funny. Kuja's always speaking in chiming sing-song, and Qiqi is very... airy... monotone... and... deliberative.

DAY-TO-DAY: Qiqi has an extremely rigorous daily routine. Pick up Anya from home. Exercises in the morning. Say bye to Anya unless they're going to play together that day. Herb hunting and preparation. Exercises in the evening. Re-reading her notebook. Repeat.

Kuja is generally quite restless right now, and has started going out more now that his powers have almost completely returned _{(like one more week, he's back up to par)}. He'll often linger quietly in public venues like the bakery-turned-tavern, though he doesn't really go around the residence halls. He hasn't quite resumed his usual rooftop-creeping habits yet, but like, give it a couple weeks and he's back to that. He drops in at Yuri's house often, and spends some time in his horrible sciencecrimes lab occasionally though his heart just isn't in it nowadays.

HOBBIES: Qiqi likes identifying plants, making medicine, and generally any silly little thing you can think to do with flowers. She also likes playing, because she is a child.

Kuja is obsessed with pretty much all artistic pursuits, but he has basically no talent for any of them. _{If you sing or play music loud enough, without fail he sidles up like a stray cat and listens. It's like casting a spell of Summon Kuja.} also fucking nerd likes the library.

PLANS & SCENARIOS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Kuja's in a place where he's primed to be less aggravatingly cavalier to people, and is a lot more open to being.. like.. emotionally invested in life here. Last month he got everyone's inner worlds beamed into his brain due to causing the memshare, so he knows about a lot of characters' big emotional moments that were shared then, unless you'd like to note 'nah I'd rather he didn't see that;' I pulled from open memories for him for everyone who got involved basically.

I want him to interact with the Nest at large more, to make his shift in character more obvious, and in general I want to deepen his connections with people & figure out what the vibe is for folks I haven't been able to keep up threading with.

I want Qiqi to do hijinks and be helpful in her own meandering way. She's not a high impact character usually but I love her anyway. Anyone who wants to know Qiqi as the absolute character about town that she is I welcome with open arms.

as for kuja... he is the only person in this town who understands her need for fun and silly posts about hot people, she probably chats him up when she sees him

CHARACTER(S): Rinne Amagi
RESIDENCE: Poppy Hall, with Niki Shiina and Nazuna Nito

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: If you hear Hiiro Amagi yelling "I LOVE YOU NII-SAN" at Poppy Hall every morning, Rinne's the guy who yells "QUIT IT, STUPID" back. He's loud and vulgar in places where there are a lot of people, and surprisingly sweet in places where there are a lot of kids. He's very friendly and social! Confident, but not stuck up. He does not bother to make himself sound likable, though.

He is prone to inserting himself in groups that look fun or interesting. It doesn't matter if he wasn't invited. Let him hang out with you.

He has a good sense of fashion that shows off his rebellious streak. He's a ripped jeans kind of guy. He has piercings and wears a lot of rings.

DAY-TO-DAY: Since it's unavoidable in Helltown, he and Hiiro spar every morning. They are both surprisingly good at martial arts. Rinne is the better one, especially at dodging and parrying, though he doesn't like showing his skills off. You're not likely to witness this unless you're up early.

Around lunchtime, all the idols gather at their house because Niki's cooking, so Rinne's there early, being generally useless like "Niki, make me a sandwich!" and "Niki, give me food (to barter with)!". Niki never seriously shoos him away, though.

In the afternoon, he goes "Gyahahaha! I'm gonna go uptown and fuck shit up!", but he's actually either at a random trade school or at the library, reading books. He loves learning. He also loves a good story. He hides in a corner so no one can find him.

At night, he's at the bar, drinking and performing. He can play the guitar.

HOBBIES: singing and dancing are obvious since he's an idol, but he also likes arts and crafts. he can make you a mug or something. he made a mahjong set for himself that i've never brought up because idk how to play mahjong, and he's helped tsukasa make a chess set.

on that note, he likes games! he likes any sort of game. arm wrestling? yeah. chess? yeah. poker? fuck yeah. he usually has game nights at his place every friday, but i assume it's just him and niki and sometimes nazuna in the yard playing mahjong with a random fourth player for the nth time. if your character would get in on this, please let me know! and feel free to assume they're poker/mahjong/whatever buddies.

- He's checking out the school with Niki this month.
- He's been too good and pensive. I know he did all that in Hot or Not, but Hiiro made him delete the pic so he needs to be terrible again.
- I want to write him learning/playing a trading card game please. He'd be serious about learning it, and he'd be seriously obnoxious while playing it. He'd be a Yu-Gi-Oh villain.

RESIDENCE: Poppy Hall with Tsukasa/Kohaku/Leo/Mayoi/Tatsumi... don't worry about it they fit
SURFACE LEVEL INFO:
- Poppy hall rooster. Always calling out 'I love you, nii-san!!' before the sun rises.
- Exercises every morning. If he's not running around, he can be found doing calisthenics, something similar to parkour, and also regular martial arts training. It's not any identifiable form because it's their village special: Amaterasu Ookami Ken.
- Cheerful and friendly! He is a little less cheerful these days, but he's recovering from heartache of losing many friends, especially one friend in particular.
- He will probably approach any new face easily and will talk to them, so not a lot of reason is needed to make contact.
- He's average sports anime height, so 174cm.
- He tends to wear loose shirts and comfortable pants, also rubber shoes.
- Often seen moving around. His favorite spots seem to be the forest, the lake, and the library.
- Often seen talking to the locals and befriending them.
- When talking to him, it's obvious how much he doesn't know, like he was very sheltered and doesn't know twitter exists.

DAY-TO-DAY:
Before the sun rises:
- Early morning exercises

- Going to the forest to disable his traps, sometimes might still hunt

Morning:
- Probably Alkaloid song and dance practice (need to confirm)

Afternoon:
- Can be found at the library or lake
- Can also be found practicing old dance moves while singing any of the Alkaloid songs, but somewhere less crowded

HOBBIES:
Please spar with him. He loves sparring. He loves surprise attacks. He also loves exercising, singing, dancing, listening to stories, hugging his friends, learning new things, etc etc. He will do anything, because he's a bit of a sheltered guy.

RESIDENCE: With the facetwins (HiMERU and Kaname)

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: She's extremely obviously a social butterfly—she's out and about everywhere from late morning to early evening, shopping and chatting and doing just about anything... Very beautiful and obviously takes care of herself, very fashionable, speaks in a fairly feminine way normally. Could be mistaken as a very pretty boy until she opens her mouth and dispels that immediately. She's definitely keeping too many secrets right now and she's lowkey dying about it but she's really good at hiding it. Big smiles, everyone.
DAY-TO-DAY: As mentioned above, she's basically everywhere all of the time. If you want to skip the first meeting stuff and just already have them already be acquaintances at minimum, go ahead and assume they've met! She never hesitates to chat people up, especially if they're on their own. She'll always introduce herself as Arashi Narukami, then offer a choice of three nicknames they can call her instead if they want: Naruko-chan, Aranee, or Ranran. Much cuter names!! No need to actually choose one though, she'll respond to Arashi and Narukami too.

At least once a week Kaname joins her for sure when she's shopping, I like imagining if she meets someone she knows it's that "your mom met her friend she hasn't seen in months so now they're catching up and you have to stand there awkwardly at the supermarket" vibe...

Other than that, sheeee has plans to open a little flower shop! They'll be paper flowers and have nice little arrangements and everything. Officially(?) it'll probably open sometime midmonth unless something happens (like she dies, again), so feel free to handwave stopping in or learning some flower language and so on. She's happy to teach anyone who's interested, and she's happy to make custom bouquets too. Her price is just "who is this for?" so be ready to confess (:

Also I guess she does sword training with anyone who's offering it. She started with Kara but if sensei isn't in she's not picky. She just wants basics so she... can protect the people important to her, at minimum.
HOBBIES: Shopping, gardening, sewing, making sweets, flower arrangements, singing and dancing because she's an idol, photography (mostly of the selfie and food/fashion variety), makeup, skincare... She's on the track and field team back in canon, so she probably still goes for a light jog. Arashi doesn't like sweating for no reason but on the other hand... kind of has to keep it up

RESIDENCE: datura hall. formerly had a roommate, but she hasn't renovated her room even after azusa had disappeared. ill look for refs later bc i like doing that but it's basically a studio apartment kinda thing.

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: while eula is starting to warm up to people now that she's not being hated on for petty reasons, she still remains cool, calm, and collected for the most part. she still likes doling out "vengeance", but her definition of it kinda varies on the situation. she's a very talented swordswoman and dancer and it shows in how she incorporates the latter in her swordplay without slowing her down. now that she can let down some of her guard here, she's quite friendly and unexpectedly freespirited for someone associated with ice.

she's also very fashionable without trying. she has a penchant for shorts and heels, even when she's out patrolling in the woods.

DAY-TO-DAY: she wakes up pretty early to patrol the woods! that's pretty much her main job, so people can spot her outside town just exploring/investigating what's out there. she's also seen practicing her swordwork whenever she has free time, and people are definitely welcome for a sparring/practice session with her. and lastly, she can be seen practicing all sorts of dance on her lonesome at night. she sleeps pretty late because you never know what's going to happen past midnight.

HOBBIES:
- she looooooves to drink. she's practically a wine connoisseur, and often hangs out at the tavern for breaks
- she's an insanely good cook, and is known for making moon pies taste delicious even with cheap, canned products. very resourceful.
- she has a bone whistle with her, but she doesn't remember how to use it. she can also be found trying to use it in the forest as a distraction.
- she also plays genius invokation TCG! need to find people to play/teach this game too, LMAO
- and of course, dance. she's an amazing dancer and can easily master whatever steps given to her

CHARACTER(S): Kaname "Yodaka" Tojo
RESIDENCE: In a house at Polly Hall along with his brother, HiMERU (meiq), and Arashi Narukami (selfloveable)!
SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Strikingly good looking and smart to boot, but the minute he opens his mouth it ruins the illusion. Once an errand boy for various townsfolk while on the island (giving him a somewhat okay reputation with them) to pass the time, he seems quite the busybody and is always going someplace. Does he rest? He doesn't need to. Easily influenced, particularly by people he likes.

Looks near-identical at first glance like HiMERU, but his hair is a little shorter and so is he -- but you'd be fine mistaking them at first apart, since it's about 8cm and from behind who can really tell... but Kaname does have a bit more of a youthful face and is very expressive, from his body to how he says things to even his face when he doesn't want to say a word. Unlike HiMERU. it's very funny. When he opens his mouth, it's obvious even outside his first-person usage it isn't HiMERU...
DAY-TO-DAY: Trade school... He'll be working part-time at a restaurant called Nightingale's Roost as a singer until darkness begins to creep over the town, just a few hours a day. Sometimes he'll walk by the woods. Usually he's finding someone to spend time with, so Yodaka's rarely alone, but when he is it's because he's choosing to be... bother him anyway.

CHARACTER(S): Ala, various npcs

RESIDENCE: Ala doesn't seem to live anywhere in particular; she wanders around all day and wanders around all night. Crow, Lark, and Maggie share a house. Swan and Robin live in their own individual houses, and so does Sparrow but she doesn't like going home and won't tell anybody where she lives. Raven lives with Amami and Kokichi.

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Ala's somebody good for bullshitting and killing time with; she likes games, making things up, and playing dumb. All the npcs seem to be pretty independent, but ranked from most to least approachable would be: Maggie (idolizes anybody who'll give her the time of day), Raven, Crow, Robin, Sparrow, Swan, Lark (social anxiety intensifies)

DAY-TO-DAY: Ala seems to wander everywhere, but gravitates towards the forest and the lake when she's playing on her own, and likes to walk around the town at night. Lark works as the postman, so he can be found mostly in the neighborhoods, and spends quite a bit of time in the cemetery. Robin works as the train conductor so is sporadically present, but people can see that Lark gets some of his deliveries via train. If anybody ever wants to go on a train ride, she wouldn't mind. All npcs return home or head indoors when the sun goes down, but very occasionally Crow and Sparrow can be seen outside at night.

HOBBIES: Both Ala and Maggie like playing make believe; Maggie likes playing princesses and knights, while Ala likes playing rampaging dragon that burns down the kingdom. Sparrow is interested in the occult, but is resentful towards people who come up to her specifically to talk about it. Actually she's pretty resentful towards people in general. Crow, Maggie, and Raven enjoy reading and can be found in the library. Crow, Robin, and Swan frequent the cafes and bars. Lark likes learning new things, but gets bristly around people who aren't serious/earnest.

PLANS & SCENARIOS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Ala is a demon pretending to be human, will sometimes do magic in front of others but then proceed to not explain herself. She can turn into a dragon! She will never mention this to anyone! Things I'm interested in are situations where Ala is forced to fight/kill, and eventually find CR she is comfortable not smiling and acting happy in front of. I want chaos. Ala thrives off chaos.

All the npcs are available to interact with, but I don't have many plans for them aside from their roles in the game's narrative. Some of them have their own goals they're working towards, but they're nothing to do with the game plot itself.

PLAYER: Ari
CHARACTER(S): Alice Yabusame
RESIDENCE: Rinne suggested Poppy Hall a while back and people seem to be doing fine living there, despite the blood fee... so Alice ended up moving there, too. He doesn't have a roommate.

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: He's a 6'1" buff and extremely stripey weird man (but if fashion comes up, he'll talk as though his taste is flawless), who outwardly looks like he'd be a delinquent. Hiiro freed him from his chains near the end of January. Most noticeably, this means that he's no longer walking around with a ball and chain attached to his ankle / wrapped around his leg and waist. I hope he's been able to start bartering things to get some normal clothes, too, instead of his jumpsuit.... He's fond of his Amagi Hiiro Brand shoes, though.

If he's startled / flustered and so on, it's possible to catch his speech patterns changing temporarily, which is represented in English by some kind of vaguely valley girl talk and "onee kotoba" phrasing in Japanese, so I'm assuming that this auto-translates somehow to any equivalent in Austice. It's fine to notice that he does this or question it, but it's also fine to dismiss it, since in canon, only one character in the spin-off game comments on it specifically, and it's not something that Alice does consciously.

DAY-TO-DAY: He'll help out with yard maintenance and so on around Poppy Hall, and greet familiar faces out and about by now, as well as sort of confirm from an acceptable distance that they're doing okay. Besides that, he still reads the noticeboard and has been checking out the livelier town to discover what exists here more recently, also because he needs food and it's depressing and not fun to cook for himself. He probably lurks around to catch any musical performances secretly (or less secretly if he knows the performers).

HOBBIES: He visits the library... it reminds him of reading in prison, but with a lot more freedom. He likes music and singing, but while he can write lyrics, he's nothing remarkable when it comes to the actual music or playing any instruments. RESIDENCE: Poppy Hall, between the Hiiro/Leo/Tsukasa house and the Rinne/Niki/Nito house depending on his mood
SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Speaks with a drawl and his laughter sounds like a chicken clucking (ko, ko, ko). He likes feeling tall, so he can be found in a tree or on a roof, people watching. He's generally sociable and polite, and likes puns, especially ones about unaliving people. Sometimes they're a little too roundabout to "get," but he'll laugh at his own joke anyway.
DAY-TO-DAY: He goes for runs in the mornings, will spar with anyone willing, and often goes to the train station to watch who comes and goes. He's waiting for a specific person.
He can also be found eating sweets, or teaching martial arts or traditional Japanese theater, learning things in other trade schools, or reading in the library.
HOBBIES: All things traditional Japanese, from tea ceremonies to music, dance and acting. He loves books and self-study way more than school.

CHARACTER(S): Byleth Eisner and Andy Hinomiya

RESIDENCE: Byleth lives in the medieval house with Yuri and Vivi, and occasionally Kuja comes over to wander like a stray cat. Andy lives in Datura Hall and is Eula's neighbour!

SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Byleth is a cryptid and Andy is the only sane man.

DAY-TO-DAY: Byleth tends to roam around, sticking mostly to the lake or the outskirts of the woods, since he doesn't like crowded towns (which helltown is now!). He can be seen practicing his blade work during the day, his magic at night, and will stand around vacantly staring at nothing and sometimes talking to himself. It's nothing to worry about.

As for Andy, he's also out and about! He likes making himself useful, so if he isn't working out and jogging around or training, if he sees someone in need of help he'll offer to help them carry this or that, or build this, or do that, etc. He's a bit of a tsundere though, as a warning...

HOBBIES: Byleth and Andy: training. Byleth: stargazing and fishing...... WHICH NEST DOESN'T HAVE. So all he's got left really is singing, but he'll find private areas near the woods to do that. I need to toss up an open log about that, really.

Andy: doing grunt work. Seriously. He just likes being helpful.

PLANS & SCENARIOS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Byleth just continuing to be weird, and Andy slowly accepting that he's carrying an olympic sized torch for hyoubu. Honestly, I'm here to vibe and see what happens with those two. Oh, and I'm probs gonna have Sothis make a surprise appearance for Byleth where she's gonna take his body for a testdrive and eat lots of food courtesy of Yuri (her favourite worshipper).

CHARACTER(S): Deuce Spade
RESIDENCE: Datura
SURFACE LEVEL INFO: Earnest jock type who is impulsive and a bit of an airhead. Pretty accurately described as pure of heart and dumb of ass. Respectful to his seniors and a pretty good friend, though occasionally he'll try to put on a tough guy act. Sometimes Deuce is prone to bursts of temper where he'll become a lot more aggressive to the point that he might come off like he has a split personality. Can be very flighty and also gets excitable about things he likes to the point of hyper fixation. Good at messing with machines, has decent domestic skills and also, he's a mage, capable of all the stereotypical magic things you think of when it comes to magic. Has a stupidly useful spell for dropping cauldrons on people.

DAY-TO-DAY: Deuce usually takes a run in the morning or when he's stressed out. He's also going to the trade school and taking a metalworking class and practicing his magic (within limits.) He's also probably bothering Leona a lot, along with whatever friends he has. Also, Deuce probably has a few odd jobs here and there fixing things and helping out people when possible.

PLANS & SCENARIOS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I've only had him here for like a month, so I'm not entirely sure, but I'm hoping to have Deuce get dragged into stupid, potentially dangerous adventures. This already happens to him in canon, so technically near death experiences are nothing new, though they've always been fairly Disney friendly near death experiences (which means nothing because Disney can go hard when it wants to).
