November's Standing Mysteries

Hiiii Austice ♥️ I've wanted to move to using the OOC comm more, and this is a great opportunity -- right now throughout the game, there's a whole host of standing questions being unveiled!

Following in this post is a list of what's new this month, or like, is still not quite answered.

I'm gonna make a top level for the major mysteries to discuss them. Please point out anything I've missed/feel free to add your own top levels!

So here's what we've got that I recall from this month:

- The coin pouch / six coins
- Some characters spawned into the game with special items in their acceptance posts
- The newest NPC, Hamtaro, a young lad who can read things we can't and has a confirmed kill count!
- SOMETHING IN THE LAKE?
- the recent fires
- Jiro's death
- what's in the fog
- the gem smashing incident on the train & Ala's disappearance
- what the coffin wants
- the missing hearts in the stained glass window (what happens when we fill them all in??? sharp objects seem to be doing it..)
- various mysterious notes

Coins! So, after Bunny sacrificed the coin he found after being accepted to the game, the coffin returned his note with an added 1/6 on it. I thought originally this might be referring to the acceptance items and did a quick skim of everyone's apps to see how many items had been received and found that three roughly-hammered silver coins with no distinctive markings on either side had been given in acceptance notices.

When I mentioned this on discord, Din noted that Diluc received an identical coin when he sacrificed two mora. On combing all of the sacrifices that have been made so far this month, I found that three more coins were received in response to sacrifices made to the coffin. Two were given in exchange for other coins, while the last one was given as a reward to Andy on the sacrifice of his acceptance item. This brings our total to six silver coins available to the characters!

On sacrificing his silver coin (2/6), Andy received an empty coin pouch. Empty ur pockets people!!

The scooby doo gang of Austice (Barnaby, Anya, Rantaro, Kuja and Andy) are currently investigating the train to look for Ala. We'll update once we find something or all get horribly murdered, whichever comes first.

Update:

- They find a blanket nest under the train!

- Andy almost gets decapitated by a train window

- Andy also almost breaks his neck because the super mega fucking haunted train has it out for him and is trying to murder him

- They find a dead body! It's Jay the Train Conductor, the Kenny of Austice

- Further along the train they find another body... nah, it's a new arrival called Tatsumi.

- Also Anya gets adopted (? held hostage?) by a bird

Dimos went naked unto that house fire trying to save the figure inside, got melted a lil for it, and found that the figure was...Not tangible. It tried to lure him in further, and then ended up under a bed protecting the box of gem shards he brought to the meeting.

So yeah. Sussy. fuck that shadow figure bro

c/p'd from Wave's acceptance notice:

At some point after the dog attack if Wave returns to the train, she will find a smiley face drawn in the dust covering one of the windows of a passenger carriage. If she looks inside, she will find a small whistle on one of the seats that if she blows into it, doesn't appear to make a sound. It does cause a momentary "being watched" feeling, though.

She and Dainsleif have theorized that it may be similar to a magic artifact in that it can only be used for a specific purpose/at a specific time, but whether or not that's actually the case is a complete tossup, lmao. I kind of really hope it's a red herring but WHO KNOWS!!!! Not I!

c/p'd from Andy's acceptance notice:

Andy opens his eyes to find himself standing in front of the church, hand raised as if about to knock on the front door. In his other hand is a sheet of paper, folded into quarters and when unfolded, reveals a letter written in illegible script. The paper is somewhat crumpled, as if he had been holding onto it for a very very long time.

We have no idea what the letter said because Andy stuck it in the coffin just to get rid of it. He got a coin in return.
